Former Chief Secretary of combined Andhra Pradesh Mohan Kanda on Sunday formally launched tele-medicine facility provided by Uddanam Foundation in Sompeta for the kidney patients. This facility helps patients to interact with the doctors directly through video conference and get medical advice.
Mr. Mohan Kanda hoped that many more NGOs would come forward to provide quick relief to the patients. He said the patients, who have been suffering from the chronic disease, need not go all the way to Visakhapatnam to meet the doctors. “I hope the government will take more steps to provide permanent relief for the patients and control the disease to protect the next generations,” he added.
Former MLA of Itchapuram Piriya Sairaj and his wife and head of Uddanam Foundation Piriya Vijaya told him that the foundation could get the support from many top specialists, particularly nephrologists of Visakhapatnam, in providing tele-medicine facility. They said that the foundation which was established nine years ago had been providing mineral water and ambulance facility for the kidney patients.
