Former MP from Amalapuram G.V Harsha Kumar alleged that the IAS and IPS officers were acting at the behest of the ruling Telugu Desam Party, instead of safeguarding the interests of the public.
He addressed a public meeting at Vemagiri late on Saturday where he alleged that the TDP leaders resorted to illegal mining and made the lives of scores of families miserable. Along with the ‘victims’, he took part in a week-long agitation demanding the arrest of all those who were responsible for the illegal mining. Action should be initiated against the officials, who failed to address civic issues, he demanded.
