Water Resources Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Sunday made it clear that the State government was keen on completing all the pending irrigation projects as per the schedule and there was no scope for any delay in this regard.
Accompanied by officials, the Minister inspected the ongoing Purushottapatnam lift irrigation project works and expressed satisfaction over the progress of the project.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that priority had been accorded to the agriculture sector and the government was providing all sorts of support to farmers.
By completing the pending projects, he said, the extent of cultivable land would be increased. He said efforts were on to complete the Polavaram irrigation project by next year.
