Operation Gaja is continuing in Sikkolu but it is getting difficult for officers to send the rampant elephants back into their habitats. Operation Gaja is continuing in Srikakulam at Meliaputti mandal's K Racing.
The elephant heard is moving around the open lands near Tekkali and officers and locals are trying to drive them back into forest by sounding drum beats and bomb blasts. Officers are taking the help of Kuppam's Jayanti & Vinayaka elephants to send the rampant elephants into Odisha forests successfully. Elephants are coming into people's habitat because of lack of food and water in forests due to summer.
