Karthika Pournami, Devotees offer Special Prayers at Shiva temples

Amaravati: On the occasion of Karthika Pournami day, devotees in the both Telugu States of  Andhra Pradesh and Telangana thronged the temples of Lord Siva. The devotees bathed in the holy rivers of Godavari, Krishna, Nagavali, Vamsadhara and others in the early hours and thronged the temples. They lighted traditional Karthika Deepams" and performed special pujas chanting "Om Namah Shivaaya".
Devotees in large numbers visited prominent temples like Vijayawada Kananadurga temple, Srisailam Mallanna, Sri Kalahasteeshwara Swamy, Sri Vayulingeswara Swamy in Srikalahasti and other Pancharama kshetrams. Devotees formed serpentine queues at the river Krishna ghat as well as at the Durga temple from the early hours.
The APSRTC also arranged into special services for the convenience of the people.
