APSRTC employees to go strike to solve issues

APSRTC Union JAC has called to go on strike over the protest against unilateral decisions of the management, which are against the interest of RTC employees and issued a notice on Friday. Speaking to media, JAC convenor Damodar Rao said that in order to achieve the worker's rightful demands, the Union JAC has decided to issue strike notice to the management on 9 May. The APSRTC JAC meeting was held at Employees Union Office in Vijayawada on Friday under the chairmanship of YV Rao.


The JAC leaders said after the meetings with the state transport minister Atchannaidu, APSRTC MD Surendra Babu, and Chairman Varla Ramaiah on 5 February, still their demands were not addressed. In that meeting, the management has made a written agreement to provide 25 percent temporary fitment and to clear 40 percent of arrears in the first installment. But till date, there is no progress over the said demands.
