The TDP government has named the Peruru Reservoir after the late Paritala Ravindra, who fought for the revival of Perur dam for supply of water to constituency of Minister for Woman and Child Welfare Paritala Sunitha. The Peruru dam is located in Ramagiri. For four decades, the dam did not get flood waters, based on which the dam was built. The TD government decided to revive the defunct project by diverting Krishna waters to the Peruru dam from the Jeedipalle reservoir. The project costing nearly Rs 900 crore will be executed by building a canal from Jeedipalle to Peruru village. The project is expected to be completed in one year.

Paritala Sunitha told that the project had 10,000 acres of ayacut. Dubbed now as the Upper Pennar project, it is expected to irrigate 50,000 acres of land in Raptadu constituency with more than 1 lakh farmers benefiting from it. The project also helps farmers in Beluguppa and Kambadur mandals. The water from Jeedipalle would arrive in one year and transform Raptadu and surrounding mandals into fertile lands. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu laid the foundation stone for the project on August 1. The project will be completed before the end of 2019.
