Vijayawada: Jana Sena founder K. Pawan Kalyan’s mother Anjana Devi donated Rs 4 lakh to the Jana Sena at the party office in Hyderabad on Tuesday. She blessed the founder and sought to work for the empowerment of suppressed communities of society. She said that the jobs of police personnel were very challenging and asked her son to help police families.

She said that she knows about police jobs as her grandfather worked as a police constable during the British regime and her father worked as a circle inspector in the excise department.

Anjana Devi recalled that their family had shifted to West Godavari and she got married to K. Venkat Rao, who was working as a police constable in the excise department. She said that her husband got promoted to assistant superintendent and retired. She said she was getting the pension and donated the pension to Jana Sena’s fund. She also recalled that the then AP chief minister N.T. Rama Rao had lessened retirement age to 55 years, but Nadendla Bhaskar Rao after assuming the CM’s post had raised the limit to 58 years and it had helped their family.

Mr. Kalyan and former Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar took blessings from Anjana Devi. Mr Kalyan said that the contributory pension scheme was not good for the government employees and stated that he would work for the cancellation of CPS.

He said that the Jana Sena yatra would resume on November 2 from the East Godavari district and a big public meeting would be held near Tuni railway station on that day. On November 3, a public meeting would be held at the Kathipudi junction and a Rachbanda programme would be conducted on November 4.
