Titli-affect: 4.6 lakh people sought for compensation

THe District collector of Srikakulam K Dhananjaya Reddy on Monday said that about 4.60 lakh entries have been reported so far seeking compensation for the damage caused by cyclone from several Titli-affected areas in district.At a review meeting with officials of various departments at the collectorate here, he said that they had closed the online entries on cyclone compensation.As the entries were on a large scale, there might be some chances of human errors, on which the officials must keep a close watch, the collector said. He also promised that no victim would be left out of the enumeration.The government was prepared to distribute the compensation among the victims within 20 days of the cyclone, he said. 


He went on to add that in case of any missing names, people could file fresh application with the local tahasildar office where the mandal-level team, including agriculture, veterinary, medical and horticulture officers, housing engineer and an official from the Fisheries department led by a tahasidar would examine the case.
