The AgriGold Customers and Agents Welfare Association (AGCAWA) will stage a two-day hunger strike here on November 1 and 2 demanding immediate justice to the victims. Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, AGCAWA president Mupalla Nageswara Rao said the association had taken up several agitations to exert pressure on the State government for rendering justice to lakhs of customers. He demanded that the government speed up the auction process of AgriGold properties and repay the deposits.

“Despite 143 customers committed suicide across the State due to delay in justice, it seems the State government is least bothered about the customers who were cheated by the group,” Rao said.

Suspecting irregularities in the auctioning process, he said the State government should take over the properties and clear the payments of customers. “It’s been more than three years since the investigation in the case is started, but no customer got his/her deposit back.

Investigation team is wasting time and testing the patience of customers. The government should seriously think rendering justice to the AgriGold victims. Otherwise, we will lay siege to the Assembly and State secretariat,” he warned.
