Retail price of Egg Hit All Time High; Each egg costs Rs 7

Hyderabad : The price of eggs has reached all time high with each egg costing Rs 7 in the retail hyderabad market. The egg prices have surged by 25% , the cost of 100 eggs in Hyderabad's wholesale market is Rs 535. During this winter season, the demand for eggs ususally rises and also the rate of eggs has increased with the fall in production and increasing demand. The same situation will continue for few more months as 25 to 30 per cent of egg production will come down across the country during this winter season. Several owners have closed the poultry farms after they had faced losses. The common man’s favourite egg has become dearer when comparing to chicken.
