Srisailam receives Heavy Inflow Another gate opened

Vijayawada: The flood flows into the Krishna river for the heavy rains in the upper watershed areas of the Krishna river. Srisailam Inflow, which has an estimated 1.25 lakh cusecs last evening, has reach nearly 2 lakh cusecs in this morning. The flow from Jurala,Narayanpur,Tungabhadra and  Almatti continues. Due to this flood, the Srisailam Dam also opened another gate at ten feet. A total of 8 gates are lifted and 1.40 lakh cusecs of water is being released to Nagarjuna Sagar.
More than 60,000 cusecs of water released from the right and left hydropower stations. In the Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir of 590 feet water, the water now reaches 562 feet. The project has 236 TMC water now, officials said. If the flood flow continues for another three to four days, sagar will reach full water level.
