Free buses in Tirupati : RTC

Tirupati: APSRTC to run free buses for Garuda Seva day which is from September 27, in Tirupati, the RTC plans to run 525 buses with 4,152 trips between Tirupati and Tirumala.
All the buses will be from Alipiri bus stand, said RTC Regional Manager V Nagasivudu.
There will be 43 free buses which will run between Alipiri and RTC central bus stand,he added
TTD planned four-wheeler parking at Dev Lok Complex on Zoo Park road. RTC will run free buses from Dev Lok Complex to Alipiri and also in return direction. Similarly, special ticket counters for denizens of Tirupati will be opened at important localities like Balaji Colony, Mangalam, Bairagipatteda etc to enable them to buy tickets for travelling on ghat road,to control traffic
By showing the tickets, they can travel through any bus up to central bus stand or Alipiri to board the bus leading to ghat road, RM maintained. In addition to the regular staff of 2,000 who work between Tirupati-Tirumala section, 500 more staff will be allotted duties for Brahmotsavams.
Among them 30 officers, 50 supervisors, 30 safety driving instructors, 50 volunteers and the remaining were drivers and conductors. RTC mechanical staff will be ready with complete tools and in the four cranes arranged by TTD on the ghat roads to meet any eventuality.
On Garuda Seva day, all Bengaluru sector services will be operated from Annamayya City Terminal at Bairagipatteda. Bus services for Vellore and beyond will be operated from Alipiri tourist bus stand. The RM also announced that RTC has introduced special packages for Sabarimala pilgrims.
They will provide buses on hire with reduced tariff per kilometer for all types of buses. And, the minimum chargeable kilometers per day shall be fixed as Rs 420 instead of Rs 480 for Sabarimala.
