Rise in water level in Srisailam project due to heavy inflows

Sat, Sep 16 : Water level in Srisailam project is gradually rising due to the heavy inflows from Jurala and Sunkesula projects.

River Krishna that was dry all these years, seemed to have received good overflowing due to heavy rains and floods in upper regions. The river is getting inflows from Karnataka as well. As such, Jurala and Sunkesula projects, in Mahabubnagar and Kurnool districts, respectively, have reached their capacity.

The officials have opened the gates, to let out excess water in to Srisailam project.
