Amaravati: CRDA finalised plans to construct star hotels, convention centres and tourism parks in Amaravati capital city and also called tenders for the project costing Rs 1,000 crore.
The last date for filing of tenders is September 25 and the remaining tender process will be completed in the next two months, according to officials.
The Capital Region Development Authority has initiated the project as a model to upcoming projects. 40 acres of land has been earmarked at Venkatapalem in Amaravati capital location.
A senior official on condition of anonymity says the project will provide direct employment for 250 and indirect employment for 1,000 members.
The CRDA initiated the work on two five-star hotels and two three-star hotels and two convention centers. “Basic infrastructure companies will come to start their commercial establishments only after these basic amenities,” official said. So far, the education and health sector have started their operations.
As no organisation started commercial establishments and hotels, the CRDA has taken up the project in a bid to create confidence among other investors.
