The technical error has arisen as there are 178 passengers in the recent flight from Bangalore to Visakhapatnam,a bird blocked the propeller
Sources said that Indigo staffers informed the management that technical persons needed to arrive from New Delhi and Chennai to fix the propeller,delay made the passengers frustrated.
Initially, the locals management of Indigo told the passengers that they would sending them in another Indigo flight to Chennai from where they could reach Benguluru. But after contacting to their higher officials, they again announced that the passengers would be sent by the evening flight.
It is learnt that a few passengers bound to International destinations via Benguluru also did not get any help and they booked other flights instantly at higher prices. However, a flight was arranged at around 3.45 pm to ferry the stranded passengers to Benguluru. Sources said that there were a few passengers who had to reach Mangalore via Benguluru and they had booked tickets from Benguluru for whopping `13,000.
Visakhapatnam airport director Pratap Reddy said that he would not make a statement over the issue, citing that it does not come under the purview of the airport management. “As the problem was with the aircraft, the airlines should know better,” he said. Despite repeated attempts, the Indigo airline authorities could not be contacted.
