Vijayawada: Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas along with other TDP leaders performed the ground breaking ceremony (Bhoomi Puja) at the Benz circle for the construction of Rs.220 crore flyover connecting Jyothy mahal to Dr Ramesh hospital junction on the Vijayawada-Chennai national highway.
The six lane bridge is expected to be completed by December 2017.Speaking on the occasion, the MP Kesineni Srinivas said Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had sanctioned Rs.4000 crore for the development of Vijayawada city during the last three years.He said the construction works of the Kanaka Durga temple flyover bridge would be completed by the end of 2017 and Gannavaram Airport development works are going on. He said the Benz circle flyover will be very beautiful and cater to the needs of the increasing traffic in the city. The MP said four lane road under the bridge can be used for the city traffic needs and will have two side service roads.
The MP said vehicles passing between Chennai-Kolkata route will pass over the flyover bridge and existing road will be used for the internal traffic purposes.Minister for water resources development Devineni Umamahewara Rao said Benz circle flyover will be the gateway for the new capital Amaravati. He said Vijayawada city will get massive development under the TDP rule. He said Vijayawada-Machilipatnam four lane works and Durga temple flyover works are going at brisk pace and the CM is reviewing the progress of the works regularly. Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Rammohan, MLC Buddha Venkanna, city Mayor Koneru Sridhar, NHAI officials and others present on the occasion.
