State govt implemented 68 welfare schemes: Minister

As many as 68 welfare schemes are being implemented by the State government. In forming this at the inaugural function of the World Bank-aided Rs 19 crore mega protected water scheme at Padmanabham mandal here on Sunday, HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said every household was provided drinking water taps in all the 19 villages in the vicinity.


“All those who are eligible are reaping the benefit of one welfare scheme or the other. Our Government is trying to support the poor in all respects. Recently, single women were sanctioned pension of Rs 1,000 per month,” he pointed out. He disbursed the pension to 75 women on the occasion.Earlier, the minister inspected the Rs 5.69 crore ghat road project under construction on the hill where the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy temple is located.
