Lending a helping hand to neighbouring Kerala, the Andhra Pradesh government announced an immediate contribution of Rs. 5 crore for relief work. Taking to Twitter, Andhra Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that the state will contribute Rs 5 crore for the relief work in Kerala.

Currently, helicopters, boats and officials are in place to evacuate those stranded in the rain-affected areas. Reports of fishermen also carrying out the relief operations are circulating on the social media. Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Idukki, Wayanad and Malappuram districts are the most affected areas in the state with most rivers in full spate. Thousands across the state are still stranded with rescue operations in full swing. This comes even as several people have stocked up essentials and are donating to help the state tackle the disaster. Meanwhile actor Siddharth, on Thursday, urged people to do whatever they can to those affected by the floods. Siddharth tweeted a proof of the sum he donated to the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund and posted a letter encouraging others to also join him.
