By now, everyone knows that Janasena General Secretary Thota Chandrasekhar has acquired the CPI owned satellite channel 99TV. Pawan is hoping to effectively communicate his party's ideologies with the masses through 99TV and a few more Janasena sympathising media houses.Ever since 99TV was acquired by the Janasena General Secretary, there were rumours that the channel was sold for Rs 15 crores. In a recent interview, CPI AP Secretary Ramakrishna opened up about the deal, although he refused to give out the worth of the deal, saying that he is not aware of the financial matters.

"There is a misconception that 99TV was sold to Janasena leader because both the parties share a similar ideology and that we will have a pre-poll alliance. Truth is that 99TV has been incurring heavy losses and there was no way we could run it on our own as we needed lakhs of rupees. Also, we did not want to shutdown the channel. We have been trying to sell off the channel since a long time to escape losses," said Ramakrishna.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen whether Pawan's craze and his party's popularity among the masses can help bailout 99TV from its losses. Can 99TV play a key role in impacting Janasena's chances in the upcoming general elections.
