Vijay Sai Reddy appealed Lok Sabha Speaker to save Democracy by disqualifying the MPs who defected to TDP upon getting elected on YCP Ticket. He has given a representation to Sumitra Mahajan in this regard. 'YSR Congress Party sought action against MPs who defected to TDP on December 14th, 2016. No measures were taken under Anti Defection Law so far though these public representatives had violated the norms. Lack of action boosts the confidence of opportunistic politicians. You (Speaker) should inspire by initiating action on those MPs who acted against the spirit of the Constitution. Don't set a bad precedent…Save Democracy by disqualifying the four MPs,' he appealed Speaker.

On January 3rd this year, YCP Chief Whip YV Subba Reddy wrote a letter to Speaker seeking disqualification of MPs SPY Reddy, Kothapalli Geetha, Butta Renuka and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. YSR Congress Party kept offering representations to the Speaker on this matter during every Session but still nothing was done.

What is the use of Anti-Defection Law if action can't be taken against MLAs & MPs lacking moral values? Certain changes should be made to the existing law to make it more powerful
