Police launched 'Rakshitha' for protection of women

To protect women and children from various atrocities, ‘Rakshitha’ was launched here on Friday. A massive rally was organised from Koti Reddy Circle to the Seven Roads junction via Nagarajapet and Old Bus Stand for creating awareness about the Rakshitha concept. Girl students from various educational institutions and women in large number have participated in the rally.


Under Rakshitha concept, each team would comprise of seven women constables and 2 men constables. Addressing the gathering, Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Adnan Nayeem Asmi said that the concept of Rakshitha was introduced to prevent the atrocities against women and children.


He mentioned two mobile numbers 7997996101, 7997996100 would be functioning round-the-clock. Additional SP A Srinivasulu Reddy urged the people to make use of the opportunity for rescuing victims whenever they are in danger. Kadapa DSP Masoom Basha and other police officials were present.
