Guntur: Petroleum dealers had decided to stop oil purchases across the state on May 10 to mount pressure on the Central government to accept their long pending demands which were accepted by the government the last year and implementation of Apoorva Chandra Committee recommendations.
AP Federation of Petroleum Dealers' Association president Ravi Gopala Krishna said that as many as 2,750 petrol bunks would be closed on every Sunday from May 14. He said from May 15, the petrol bunks will work from 6 am to 6 pm. He further said that due to increase of petrol bunks the business is coming down. As a result the petrol bunks owners are incurring losses. He said they had already distributed the posters to all the petrol bunks owners to make their protest a success and requested the centre to accept their demands at least now.
