Update on YS Jagan Padayatra

Leader of Opposition Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday assured the ‘Velugu’ animators, Sanghamitras and the VOAs that their honorarium would be increased to 10,000 per month, if the YSRCP was voted to power in 2019 elections.

Representatives of the ‘Velugu’ animators called on Mr. Jagan at Bikkavolu and poured out their woes pertaining to the works assigned to them and the ‘meagre honorarium’. Giving them a patient hearing, Mr. Jagan expressed concern over the meagre pay pack.

“There is an immediate need to improve the monthly income of ‘Velugu’ animators. They deserve a better honorarium,” he said.Later in the day, Mr. Jagan suspended his padayatra for the day owing to the incessant downpour and stayed put at Bikkavolu. Earlier in the day, the representatives of the State government employees met him and thanked him for promising them construction of houses and allocation of house sites.
