Competing with the rising mercury levels, the race for the Chairman post of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams is picking up with three senior leaders including Narasrarao MP Rayapati Samba Siva Rao, Rajamahendravaram MP Murali Mohan and former minister and party senior leader Gali Muddu Krishnam Naidu throwing their hat into the ring.
Rayapati, who made it his life ambition is prepared to sacrifice his MP post if necessary to get the coveted post and reportedly wrote a letter to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu to this effect. In fact, he is very open and vocal in expressing his ambition ever since he was in Congress and continued his efforts even after shifting loyalties to TDP. However, he lost race to kanumuri Bapi Raju during Congress regime and to Chadalawada Krishna Murthy last year whose tenure comes to an end on April 30. And he again threw his hat in the ring and praying Lord Venkateswara to fulfill his life ambition. Only time will tell how the God responds to his prayers.
Meanwhile, actor turned politician Murali Mohan who is also in the race is reportedly moving the pawns close to his chest. And he is reportedly using all his industry, political and even family connections to mount pressure on Chief Minister. And, Gali Muddu Krishnam Naidu who missed the cabinet berth in the recent expansion too is pleading his case directly with Chief Minister. Whom the Lord blesses and whom the leader decides is unpredictable at least for now.
