Update on kaleswaram and polavaram

Upcoming Polavaram and Kaleswaram irrigation projects, in Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana respectively, have been compared with the Three Gorges Dam over River Yangtze in China. The three projects are incomparable in their massive built, the enormous area they would cover as well as in the depth of planning and work that has gone into them. All the three projects faced road blocks in the form of environment sanctions as well as compensation to the displaced persons. However, on completion, Polavaram and Kaleswaram would stand as landmark projects in the country, in Telugu land.
