Amaravati: The TDP leadership seems to be keen on announcing candidate for Nandyal byelection from within the family members of the deceased legislator Bhuma Nagi Reddy, following a survey. The TDP leadership started collecting information following keen competition from two groups within the party to bag the ticket. Party candidate during the last Assembly election Silpa Mohan Reddy is very keen to contest. He was defeated by the then YSR Congress leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy by a margin of 4,000 votes.
It is learnt that the Bhuma family members held consultations among themselves and informed their decision to Chief Minister and TDP national president N Chandrababu Naidu.On the other hand, Silpa Mohan Reddy is reportedly reluctant to withdraw his plans of contesting the bypoll. At one stage, there were reports that he was considering shifting his loyalties from TDP to YSR Congress to contesting in the byelection. But the Chief Minister pacified him and told him that the ticket would be issued based on wining chances after conducting a grass-root level survey.
