Jana Sena Party (JSP) president Pawan Kalyan on Friday said Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had come to power as he promised employment for youth. His slogan during electioneering was “job kavali – Babu ravali.”

Except for his son Lokesh, who was made IT Minister, Mr. Naidu did not provide jobs to the youth so far. Mr. Pawan Kalyan was addressing a public meeting at Payakaraopeta and Yelamanchili as part of his 45-day yatra of north coastal A.P.

Mr. Pawan Kalyan began his Payakaraopeta leg of tour by visiting the family members of JSP’s supporters B. Siva (32) and T. Nagaraju (28), who were electrocuted when they came in contact with live wires while trying to fix a flexi for his meeting near Sai Mahal in Payakaraopeta mandal on Wednesday. At Siva’s house, the JSP president consoled the family members, especially his young widow, and named their months-old son as Anirudh. Apart from giving ?3 lakh to each of the family members, he promised to make fixed deposit that would take care of their children’s education. He also promised to secure a job for Siva’s wife.

Later, speaking at the public meeting, Mr. Pawan Kalyan pointed out that corruption was rampant in the TDP government.“They say there is no corruption. But the mafia is stealing sand from the Thandava every day. Is this not corruption?” he questioned.Huge chunks of land were being usurped from the farmers under the garb of setting up industries, but locals were not finding any job. “And where are the industries? I don’t see a brick being set up anywhere,” he said.

Criticising the education policy, he said, “Sarvasiddhi Rayavaram in Visakhapatnam district is the birth place of Gurajada Apparao, and there is no junior college in the area. This clearly indicates the lopsided policy. The 30-bed hospital promised by the Chief Minister has not seen the light of the day.”At Yelamanchili, he said the railway overhead bridge had been pending for the last 15 years.“The government has also not taken care of the Etikoppaka artisans,” he said.
