Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said that the BJP and the YSR Congress Party had come together to stall the development in the State. They were seeking to incite people by raking up religious, regional and caste issues, he alleged.

Addressing a public meeting at Valasapalle on outskirts of Madanapalle as part of the Navanirmana Deeksha, Mr. Naidu said it was unfortunate that the two parties were conspiring against the Telugu Desam government which had only people’s interests at heart.He termed the YSRCP MPs’ resignation a drama, willingly enacted by both parties to avoid by-elections.

The TDP supremo observed that the Telugu people should be ever ready to thwart the efforts of the NDA-led BJP to protect the sanctity of the Tirumala temple, and oppose any move the Centre to take over it in the name of archaeological concerns. The CM said that the development in the State would not stop even if the Centre did not cooperate.Mr. Naidu maintained that Handri-Neeva Sujala Sravanthi would become a reality soon. Pattiseema waters would reach Madanapalle, Punganur, Kuppam, Vayalpadu and Chittoor. “The government is committed to linking tanks,” he said.Taking a dig at YSRCP Punganur MLA P Ramachandra Reddy and his son and Rajampeta MP P. Mithun Reddy, the CM that they never came forward with any proposal for the development of western mandals.

He said the YSRCP had unleashed a priest to malign his image, referring to Ramana Dikshitulu’s meeting with Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.Earlier, Mr Naidu announced that the State had achieved cent % ODF status.There was heavy downpour for one hour at the venue and an elated Mr. Naidu termed it a good sign.The Chief Minister arrived at Chandramakula Palle in Punganur constituency by helicopter from the Renigunta airport. He inaugurated the NTR housing unit, Palle vanam, and Brindavanam, a compost unit at the village. As he was on a tight schedule, Mr. Naidu limited the Grama Darsini event to extending greetings to people.

Later, the Chief minister left for Madanapalle, and took part in the State-hosted Iftar, attended by Muslim religious heads from Chittoor and Kadapa districts.Ministers Atchannaidu, Lokesh, Amarnath Reddy, district TDP president P. Nani, Chittoor MP Siva Prasad and district officials accompanied Mr. Naidu.
