Two days after BJP MP Subramanian Swamy tweeted he would file a PIL on the TTD issues, his colleague in the Rajya Sabha GVL Narasimha Rao on Monday said a CBI probe into the ‘irregularities’ and other issues was not ruled out in case there was a private complaint or court direction.

On June 2, Mr. Swamy said he was planning to free the TTD from the ‘clutches’ of the State government.Mr. Rao told the media here that the BJP government, on its own, was not for CBI raids as alleged by its former alliance partner TDP.“There could be a CBI probe if there is any complaint and a court direction. As of now, there are several serious complaints with regard to the TTD, Polavaram and land acquisition in Amaravati among other issues,” he said.

He asked why the State government was not ordering a probe on its own when there were such serious allegations by former chief priest of TTD Ramana Dikshitulu and others. The execution of the Polavaram project too had been marred by controversies and allegations from several quarters, said BJP State president Kanna Lakshminarayana.

“The most experienced Engineer in Chief (ENC) of the project was replaced with an inexperienced one to facilitate manipulations. Of late, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu is frequently talking about CBI probe and seeking help from people and other leaders. He must be scared that all the irregularities could be exposed,” he said.Mr. Naidu even joined hands with former Prime Minister Deve Gowda who increased the height of the Almatti dam and stopped water to A.P. farmers and Mr. Rahul Gandhi who was responsible for improper bifurcation of the State, BJP State chief said. He alleged that the State government was unwilling to form Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs) for the Krishnapatnam, Srikalahasthi and Visakhapatnam industrial corridors as they would not allow diversion of funds.

The Centre is ready to release funds but the State is not interested. The State is also not working on Utilisation Certificates which are expected to be given to the Centre over the funds spent,” he said.
