India has successfully test-fired Long Range Ballistic Missile Agni-5. The indigenously developed missile has a strike range of 5,000 km, off the Odisha coast.
This is the sixth successful test of the missile that was tested at 0945 hrs from Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Island [Wheeler Island]. This long-range ballistic missile can carry a nuclear warhead weighing 1.5 tonnes and features many new indigenously-developed technologies, and it has the potential to improve the accuracy of the missile. All the earlier trials of Agni series were successful.
