People should not believe the Congress: YS Jagan

YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the electorate not to trust the Congress, the TDP, and the BJP as they have all wronged the people in one way or the other.

Addressing a public meeting at Palakol in West Godavari district as part of his Praja Sankalpa Yatra on Friday, Mr. Reddy said people should not believe the Congress because it was responsible for bifurcation, the TDP because it deceived them with promises it could not keep, and the BJP because it did not give Special Category Status though it had the power to do.

Mr. Reddy went a step further and said people should elect the YSRCP candidates in all the 25 Lok Sabha seats to ensure SCS to the State. The YSRCP was ready to extend support to any party that would give SCS to A.P., he said. “Let any party sign the SCS file, and the YSRCP will extend full support to it in Parliament,” he added.He said the SCS was the panacea for all the problems the State was facing since bifurcation. States that had been granted SCS were exempted from paying Income-Tax and GST. It would open the flood gates of investments into the State and the youth here would get jobs, he said.

“Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is also asking people to elect only TDP candidates to Parliament. But people should ask him what he has achieved with the 17 TDP MPs elected in 2014,” Mr. Reddy said.‘Natural resources plundered’People of West Godavari district, who had elected TDP candidates in all the 15 Assembly seats, were given the worst possible deal, he said.Instead of developing the district, the TDP MLAs “plundered” its natural wealth like sand, Mr. Reddy alleged.
