Union minister, Jithendra Singh, who addressed a press conference at Vijayawada, said that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) left National Democratic Alliance (NDA) only for political reasons.

Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi was ready to give all the benefits to Andhra Pradesh (AP) that would have accrued because of Special Category Status, he said. The Centre never went back on the issue of aiding AP, Jithendra Singh noted. Modi has no partiality towards AP, he assured. The attitude of the state government is responsible for the delay in Polavaram works, he observed.
