An LGBT (hijra) person was attacked by an angry mob, at Repalle railway station in Guntur.
The person is lying in Tenali hospital in a serious condition. The mobs attacked the hijra, suspecting her of kidnapping kids. However, police said that she was a just drunk and was creating ruckus, when the mob attacked her, police said. Fear has gripped both the Telugu states, suspecting gangs of notorious kidnappers and thieves roaming in all areas. Police have however dismissed these as rumours and urged the people to report to them any suspected activity and not manhandle the persons.
