The II-Town police on Tuesday three persons on the charge of killing milk vendor Rajaboyina Venkanna in the early hours of May 11 and recovered from them an iron rod and a motorcycle used to commit the crime.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Ravi Varma, at a press conference here, said that Kona Swamy Venakta Durga Prasad, 20, Gorla Durga Prasad, 19, and Remidi Seetharam, 19, all residents of Gandhinagar in the city and close friends, chased Venkanna on a motorcycle and beat him to death by using the iron road.
He said that the prime accused Durga Prasad had differences of opinion with Venkanna for quite a long time and at one point of time Venkanna injured Durga Prasad with an iron rod during a quarrel. On the midnight of May 10, the trio spotted Venkanna alone in an inebriated condition and followed him from Ramaraopeta to Mallaiah Agraharam and attacked him from behind. A case was registered and the accused were produced before the magistrate.
