Six Cricket Bookies Arrested In AP

Due to the fever of IPL the cricket bettings raising in the state.As per information six persons held in cricket betting in Guntur,said the Guntur Urban police.And they arrested those persons involved in cricket betting on Saturday.Guntur Urban SP Ch. Vijaya Rao said cars, bikes, TVs, cell phones and cash were seized from the arrested persons. He also warned of stern action against bookies and punters.

Addressing the mediapersons in Guntur on Saturday, he said that Alapati Ramakrishna of Chebrolu village lodged a complaint against cricket bookies and punters and the police held raids on cricket betting centres at Koyavaripalem of Prathipadu mandal.Mr Vijaya Rao said that cricket bookie Nama Purnachandra Rao of Koyavaripalem and assistants Vadranapu Venkatesh of Sita Nagar, Kakarla Arun Babu of AT Agraharam, Bodalapati Siva Nageswara Rao of Koritapadu, Patalam Sadik of Tadikonda and Kokipati Ramakrishna of Guntur were involved in cricket betting.He said that police seized a car, two bikes, TVs, 13 cell phones, 3 ATM cards and Rs 2.97 lakh cash from the arrested.He said that in another case, Nagarampalem police of Guntur city arrested A. Raviteja alias Naga working as a sub-bookie in cricket betting gang.
