APITA will organise multi-sector mega recruitment drives

The Andhra Pradesh Information Technology Academy (APITA) will organise multi-sector mega recruitment drives in all the 13 districts of the State this month as part of the ‘Look for Employees in AP’ (LEAP) initiative. The district recruitment drives of the LEAP will be for two successive days. The series of events will start from May 15 in Nellore and Guntur districts and culminate on May 29 in East Godavari and Prakasam districts. IT Association of AP (ITAAP), YourStory, Inc42 and Industry Development Forum (IDF) are partnering with the APITA for the programme.

LEAP is a State Government’s initiative launched by IT Minister Nara Lokesh recently at Tirupati. It aims at interfacing the industry and the students in identifying mutual employment prospect. “More than 100 companies headquartered in various cities have confirmed their participation for the recruitment drive and more than 10,000 jobs are expected to be provided,” APITA Additional CEO Winny Patro saidHe said such huge recruitment melas in a span of 15 days were being conducted for the first time in the State. The APITA has submitted an application for Guinness Book of World Records and Limca Book of Records.

Major recruiters

The IT and ITES sector will have lot of job openings in addition to e-commerce, banking and financial sector. Prominent companies such as Mphasis, Byjus, Policybazaar, Flipkart, Zoho, Paytm, Walmart, ICICI Bank, Concentrix and others will take part in the job fairs.

Orientation sessions

The APITA will orgnaise special orientation sessions for two to three days prior to the recruitment events in all the districts for specific job roles with higher packages demanding key skillsets from companies such as Oyo, Corpus, Zoho and Byju’s.
