NDA govt is seriously considering of granting railway zone to AP

The BJP-led NDA government is seriously considering of granting railway zone to Andhra Pradesh with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters. But, the Centre is very cautious of not hurting the Odisha interests while creating separate railway zone for Andhra Pradesh. It wants to include only 30 percent of Waltair division in new railway zone from ECR.
Experts say the inclusion of railway lines from Visakhapatnam to Araku and from Ichchapuram to Visakhapatnam in new zone will benefit people of north coastal districts. A Parliamentary Committee is arriving in Visakhapatnam on May 14 in this regard.
