Supreme Court (SC) has directed the Centre to say how far the provisions of Andhra Pradesh (AP) Reorganisation Act have been fulfilled. It heard a petition filed by Congress Member of Legislative Council (MLC) Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, in this regard.

The Centre has asked for four weeks time to file its reply. There has been a lot of heated argument between ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Congress Party on one side and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the other, regarding the fulfillment of the AP Reorgnisation Act. The BJP has maintained uptill now that it has fulfilled a majority of the provisions.
