Fight for Special Category Status raising in Andhra Pradesh state.The leaders  and activists of various political parties, civil society organisations, Youth organisations have underlined the need to fight collectively to get the SCS. The leaders, members of various associations and common people are still optimistic that there is a chance to get the SCS.Some major debates as follows.


 Leaders of various political parties enthusiastically participated in the ‘Dasa-Disa’ debate conducted by the HMTV to discuss how to fight to get the Special Category Status at the APNGOs Association hall in Gandhi Nagar in city on Saturday.


Anchor Rani Rudrama coordinated the debate. CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna, TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy, TDP MLA from Tadikonda T Sravan Kumar, Congress senior leader Naraharisetty Narasimha Rao, BJP leader  Srinivas, advocate Naraharaseety Srihari, APNGOs Association president P Ashok Babu, film critic Katti Mahesh, former MP Vadde Sobhanadriswara Rao and others participated in the debate and expressed their views on the fight to get Special Category Status. Most  of the speakers felt BJP betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh on the SCS and felt that the fight should be continued. 


CPI State Secretary K Ramakrishna regretted that the political parties are not coming on one platform in the fight for the SCS. He said AP suffered huge loss due to bifurcation of the state. 


TDP MLA Bonda Umamaheswara Rao has said the Telugu Desam is committed to continue the fight for the SCS. He alleged that the BJP  betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh by not granting the SCS. He said the Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced SCS in the presence of Lord Venkateswara in Tirupati and later ignored.


YSRCP MLA Alla Ramakrishna Reddy  said the YSRCP began fight for the SCS four years ago and Jaganmohan Reddy is conducting Padayatra to educate people on the benefits of SCS. Film critic Katti Mahesh has stressed upon the need for the collective fight for the SCS. He said film industry should join the 6fight for the SCS. 


Former Minister Vadde Sobhanadriswara Rao  stressed upon the need to fight for the SCS. He questioned why the Union Government is betraying the people of Andhra Pradesh on the SCS. He said Andhra Pradesh is losing many tax benefits in the absence of  SCS.


 Film actor Sivaji explained how the Andhra Pradesh lost tax concessions as it was not granted SCS. He  alleged that the BJP  betrayed the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said the Congress has strongly suggested for Special Category Status to the state for five years; but the present BJP government has ignored it. 


Former mayor Tadi Sakuntala, Trade union leader and social activist Dhanalakshmi, Student union leader Rayapati Srikrishna and others spoke on the occasion.Some youth have expressed their ire on the BJP and BJP government alleging both are enacting dramas and not fighting for SCS.
