The Supreme Court advised the Election Commission of India to consider the plea of a petitioner to make changes in VVPAT machines for cancelling the vote if it was found through voting slip that vote was cast to another candidate but not to the candidate which the voter intended to vote.

An engineer Arun Kumar filed a petition in the Apex Court urging the SC to direct the Election Commission to create a log in the EVMs to know how many voters have cast vote in a polling station. The Apex Court struck down the petition and suggested the EC to consider the petitioner’s plea.
