Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State president and MP Kambhampati Haribabu said that the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has fallen into political trap of the YSR Congress Party.
Addressing a press conference in New Delhi on Tuesday, Mr. Haribabu said that the TDP played into the hands of the YSRCP on the no-confidence motion against the Modi government. The BJP would never sail with the YSRCP. There was no truth in allegations that YSRCP MP Vijayasai Reddy was using the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), he said.
The Central government has fulfilled many of the promises made to the State even though they were to be fulfilled over a period of 10 years. The State government was not coming forward to accept the ?15,000-crore financial benefit in lieu of the Special Category Status fearing criticism from the Opposition parties, he said.Except the SCS, the Centre was to ready to grant every request made by A.P. The Centre had accepted the State government’s request to allow it to avail loans from the national institutions instead of foreign agencies. The State government has to come out with an alternative to Dugarajapatnam for the establishment of a port as it cannot be taken up for technical reasons.
The Centre would take necessary steps as soon as the State government gave a clarification in this regard, he said. The TDP was blaming the BJP and the Central government alleging that injustice was done to A.P. The Centre was committed to implementing all the provisions of AP Reorganisation Act.
The Modi government extended all possible help to A.P. In fact, A.P. had benefited the most during the last four years.
No political party focussed its attention on the 13 districts of A.P. from 1956 to 2014. In sharp contrast, the NDA government had allotted many national institutions during the last three years, he pointed out.
