A Division Bench of the Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice K.Vijaya Lakshmi on Tuesday ordered notices to 22 MLAs who were elected on YSR Congress Party ticket but later shifted to the ruling TDP.

The Bench was dealing with a PIL filed by former MLA Anna Venkata Rambabu of Markapuram in Prakasam district who sought disqualification of all the 22 MLAs, including four Minsters in the Cabinet.

C. V. Mohan Reddy, senior counsel appearing for the petitioner, said that the defectors were mocking at the system and anti-defection law is flouted with impunity. He said that petitions filed before the Speaker had not been adjudicated. The case will be listed after two weeks.
