YSR Congress Party president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on Wednesday vowed to restore the “golden” rule of his father and former Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy in the Andhra Pradesh State, on the occasion of completion of 100 days of his ‘Praja Sankalpa Padayatra,’ at Uppalapadu near Chimakurthy in Prakasam district. He cut a 100-kg cake to mark the occasion.

Sharing his joy with his followers, Mr. Jagan tweeted: “Completed 100 days of Padayatra today. Each day I have received your unparalleled support and warmth. Each day we have together walked for a better Andhra Pradesh. With each passing day of the #PrajaSankalpaYatra, I am more determined than ever to restore our Rajanna’s Rajyam.”

He released white doves giving a message of hope for the beleaguered State struggling to overcome bifurcation blues as Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu “bartered away the State’s interests and compromised with the Centre for political expediency,” said party Chief Whip in Parliament Y.V. Subba Reddy.

Mr. Naidu, who had favoured SCS for 15 years at the time of the elections, later reversed his stand, saying it would be of no use. With elections round the corner, he once again changed his stand in favour of SCS, Mr. Jagan said.

He questioned the rationale behind the State government taking over construction of the Polavaram project the completion of which was the Centre’s responsibility.

He disputed the Chief Minister’s reported claim that the State would have problem in getting Central funds for bridging revenue deficit if it insisted on SCS. “Does he not know that the Centre bridged the revenue deficit of States with SCS?” he asked.
