District Collector Kona Sasidhar has said that water will be released into Nagarjuna Sagar Right Main Canal from March 5 to meet the drinking water requirements of Guntur and Prakasam districts.
Mr. Sasidhar reviewed the position of water levels here on Tuesday and said the quantum of water releases would be sufficient for meeting the drinking water requirements only and asked the farmers no to raise the second crop.
He said that steps should be taken to fill up all water tanks in the district in view of the summer. Later,he said that biometric attendance would be introduced in the district and asked the District Panchayat Officer K. Aruna to install machines in all the offices.
He warned that he would not spare those indulging in irregularities in the implementation of e-crop system.
