Girl students's selfie attempt proves fatal

  A girl student was killed during her bid to pose for a selfie with her friends at Pattiseema irrigation project on Sunday.

The victim was identified as B. Sai Ramya, 18, a student of degree first year from Dommeru in West Godavari district. Along with two of her friends, Ramya went to visit Pattiseema lift irrigation project in the morning. During the photo session, one of her friends Sai Bhavani fell into the Godavari. Sai Ramya, who knew swimming, swung into the river to rescue her. With both the girls washing away in the flow, local fishermen went to their rescue and were able to rescue Sai Bhavani and admitted her to a local hospital. They, however, could only trace the body of Sai Ramya. A case was registered.
