Tirupati: Six out of 5 law colleges affiliated to the Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) are opposing advancement of semester exams without following the mandatory norm of maintaining the three months gap between two semesters.
According to sources, the SVU exam branch is preparing to conduct next semester LLB exams from February 5. Moreover, syllabus has not yet completed in affiliated colleges and the varsity did not declare exam results of previous semesters of 3-year and 5-year LLB courses.
Due to delay in announcement of semester results, students don’t know how many papers they have passed, if any subjects are pending. They are questioning the varsity authorities why they are in hurry to conduct next semester exams.
Two affiliated law colleges have already submitted a memorandum to the varsity officials seeking postponement of the LLB first, third, and fifth semester exams and to conduct them after March 5, 2018 as 90 working days will be completed by that time.
Speaking to The HansIndia, SVU Rector Macha Bhaskar said that the varsity wants to conduct exams much early keeping future of students in mind. The exam branch will release all the pending law exam results soon, he added.
